GENESIS ONE Procedure
Pre-Release Strategy for Genesis One:
- Chapters are established within participating prisons that utilize the resources already available within the prison. For example: programs offered by the Department of Corrections, i.e., GED, vocational, anger management, drug rehabilitation, and other courses, and well as existing volunteer ministries and support groups.
- Each new member offender is assisted in developing a customized Life Plan that uses existing resources that fulfill his or her needs.
- A leadership team is established consisting of offenders, the facility chaplain and a GENESIS ONE chapter volunteer-sponsor.
- The leadership team evaluates the progress of offenders and determine when they have completed the program.
- The leadership team grants approval to members who have completed his or her program prior to release from prison.
- An offender life plan is developed and customized by the offender and GENESIS ONE Chapter Leadership to fit the member's needs. The goal being seamless transfer from incarceration to a successful, healthy community life.
